Summary of the GA 2012 in Kirchroth (D)

Birgit H. Hilsbos (chair) called the meeting to order, welcomed all attendees and thanked them for coming. She asks for changing requests. There are none. Roberto D’Angelo will translate from German to Italian.

Birgit Hilsbos reads the journal and points out the success of the definite recognition by the FCI. Journal was accepted.

G. Frei-Dora (vice chair) reads the audited financial statements. Motion to accept it. Motion carried.

Ingrid Anderlohr, BVWS retired early as director-at-large. The BVWS recommends Ludwig Michel for by-election. Ludwig Michel/BVWS: Is elected and he accepts the election.

The former chair of PSBCI, Paolo Delfini retired early as director-at-large. The PSBCI recommends the new chair, Giuliana Praderio for by-election. Giuliana Praderio/PSBCI: Is elected while absent and assured to accept the election.

The FBBSI WINNER CUP 2013 will take place on the occasion of the World Dog Show in Budapest (HU) on Saturday, May 18th, 2013, and will be organized by the SFJK. The FBBSI GA 2013 will also be organized by the SFJK on the occasion of the WDS.

A summary of the «bases for the development of the WSS Character Profile» has been submitted by Dr. Barbara Forke (BVWS) and Susanne Wipf (GWS) – both members of the FBBSI committee for character profile – to the board in February, 2010. For orientation the PSBCI is given a copy in German.

Dr. Barbara Forke (BVWS) will stay committee member, while the former breeding head of GWS, Susanne Wipf will be replaced by Monika Oehler (member of breeding committee), GWS. The PSBCI is asked to quote its committee member by the end oft he year.

G. Frei-Dora explains that prior to the definite recognition there have been corrections while translating to the original language, e. g. in regards to the description of the hair. France carelessly uses this to show short haired WSS separated from long haired WSS for the CAC and only awards the CACIB for both together. This is not according to the rules and not to justify by the standard.

Irene Langguth (director-at-large), BVWS suggests to organize seminars for judges for specific, breed related education.

Katja Müller (breeding head BVWS) is using a new program to save all breeding data of BVWS. She offers to forward a trial version to all interested delegates. It makes sense if every FBBSI member club would use the same program to implement common breeding data. Serena Carisch (director-at-large), PSBCI explains that all Italian breeding information can be found on the website of ENCI anyway. Ilona Vogt (director-at-large), SFJK explains, that there is not too much data to process due to the lack of litters. G. Frei-Dora explains, that a common program would be interesting.

Geneticist PD Dr. Cluade Schelling of the ETH/UNI Zurich developed a memorandum for breed specific problems for the attention of FBBSI in April 2012. This memorandum has been handed out. The key message is that only a correct and complete data process and collection will guarantee a success in research.

G. Frei-Dora explains, that the first action in Switzerland will be that the testing for DM will be compulsory for breeding dogs, starting 2013.

S. Carisch, as a vet, is also in favour for this testing, although it is known that «only» 10 – 15 % of the affected dogs will suffer from this sickness.

I. Langguth explains that the BVWS at present decided against a compulsory testing. However controlling of the descent with ETH/UNI Zurich will start in the future.

S. Carisch and B. Hilsbos try to keep information up to date on facebook. To realize this they urgently need the support of the clubs and their members by forwarding information and pictures asap.

B. Hilsbos explains the idea of a «FBBSI Performance Cup». The assembly also suggests a federation winner tournament for agility.

She also plans a special FBBSI award for exeptional achievements of working dogs (e. g. success of SAR dogs).

S. Carisch explains the breeding requirements of PSBCI: HD, ED, MDR1 Test, DNA deposit and new a compulsory BH testing. She than hands out statistics for HD (164) and ED (128) from Italy for the years 2005 to 2011.

I. Langguth encourages to use uniform and descriptive forms for litter checkings and offers to hand out the new form the BVWS is using.

Dr. B. Gerlach is pleased to join an amicably meeting and that all motions have been carried unanimously.

As nobody has any questions any more, Birgit H. Hilsbos closes at 8:38 pm and thanked the attendees for coming.
